Nasim

Born in Vijayawada, India and now an emerging artist out of Portland,Oregon. Nasim was born from an Iranian father and an East Indian mother. Her ethnicity gives her a diverse range of musical influences. Her father left Iran due to the political problems and went to India. Her mother was a singer/actress in india. Nasim came to america from india with her family as religious refugees when she was 5 years old. She started to write music when she was 14 years old. She went from being a singer to rapping and now Nasim has a unique rap-singing style, she is almost in her own genre of music. Nasim's many musical influences ranges from Old school hip hop, to rock, electro, techno, and a variety of classical music from the middle east and India. Nasim has performed all over the northwest area and parts of california. She has opened up for westcoast artists like e-40, the federation, and spice one. Nasim has collaborations with a known jamaican dancehall group named T.O.K. and Krazy D who was an original member of NWA. Currently Nasim is being produced by her brother Genus Vega and Krazy D. She is also working with Chilly Chill of Ice Cubes Original Lench Mob. Nasim has a song with two other artists that will be in a independent film called DAZE. She is also in the music video for the song that will promote the movie. Nasim's music myspace gets about 1,500+ hits a day with a total of a million plays and a growing fanbase. Nasim's goal is to bring something different to the industry. Her looks, talent, and her ethnic background makes her unique and appeals to the masses worldwide.
